11/2025: HELLLOOO!! I am Pixote, and I am new to Mickaboo, grieving the passing of my caregivers, who loved me for all of my 42 years. In fact, they loved me so much that I was able to trick them into giving me table scraps and all my favorite junk food, so I didn`t have to eat my pellets or any of those yucky vegetables. As a result, I`m a plus-sized lady with some soreness in my legs and feet, and I don`t use my very beautiful amazon wings to fly. I readily take my medications hidden in various kinds of food, but I do need them twice a day, for now. Due to my advancing age, I may need to do this long term, but please don`t call me old! I`ve got years left in me, and I`ve been so adaptable to change that I`m readily stepping up for the ladies and accepting scritches. The nice ladies who have stepped in to care for me since I lost my family say that I am very sweet and a very typical amazon, in that I love attention and singing to music, which is when I really get loud and animated. But I am also content to sit near you and watch you and the world, and I am very quiet for hours at a stretch. My temporary Mickaboo family is still getting to know me. I hear them saying I am sweet, easygoing, food-picky but a fruit lover (mmmm, loving these orange slices and bananas and grapes!), and human friendly but can be bird aggressive to birds of other species. They think I might enjoy living out my middle/senior years in a home with older humans who like not making a 60-plus-year commitment to an amazon and will sing or whistle or cluck with me and help me find vegetables to like. I have been pretty quiet for an amazon, but I can get loud when I want to belt out my tunes or tell you something. If you don`t have any other pesky birds around, or if you can keep them at a safe distance, would you consider singing through the golden years with me?
