Looking for the perfect new home and nothing less for beloved white fronted Amazon, Peewee. She was found on the street two years ago and she is a great friend. Sadly, my new home cannot accommodate her. She loves to engage with people she trusts and would like to be around other birds. Update from PeeWee`s foster mom: Pee wee is a sweetie pie! And she`s fun :) She can step up and fly to us on command for a treat. She does so with me more readily than my husband and kids, but she will do so with all of us. She`s very social/ relational. We have her in the main living area and she seems to like being part of all the activity. When we talk loud or play music she joins in with her own vocalizations. If we laugh hard she will laugh too. And she has great timing, like if someone makes a joke she seems like she`s almost the first one to laugh, like she can sense a joke is coming. It`s really cool and makes us laugh. When we leave the room she`ll call for us and if we don`t come she`ll wolf whistle. If we are out of the room too long and talking boisterously she`ll fly to us trying to find us and be part of the action. She especially gets a little FOMO when our son is doing bath and we`re all in the bathroom getting ready for bed talking. Sometimes when I`m working on something and the kids aren`t making noise, she`ll whistle what sounds like a tune to herself :) When she`s ready for bed she makes cute little sounds that are hard to describe (kind of like cooing/clucking) like she`s putting herself to sleep. it`s very sweet. As treats she loves walnuts and sunflower seeds. She`ll readily go into her cage for a nut or seed. She will motion like she`s going to bite if she doesn`t want hands near her but she hasn`t bit any of us hard. I think she is just trying to tell us she wants space but doesn`t try to hurt. She eats pellets and some fruits and veggies. she likes celery, snap peas, green beans, corn, a little strawberries /blueberries/apples, lettuce

So, did you think you might want to make an amazon your forever companion but worry about biting or screaming or being loyal to one person only? Or even too big? Well, my name reveals my petite stature, as we white fronts are the smallest of the amazons. But boy do I have one big and very sweet personality! My person found me on the street a couple years ago, and I may be chatty, but I haven`t said how I got there or how old I am. I`m way too busy just being charming and REALLY wanting and relishing in your attention. My person couldn`t bring me through a move, so I`m now with a wonderful foster family, where I`m being handled by children and really enjoying being part of the hustle and bustle of family life. I love to laugh at your jokes and with you, and my timing is perfect. I really enjoy my treats, like sunflower seeds and walnuts, and they`re excellent motivators to, say, get me into my cage. But the rest of the time I`m good with my pellets and some fruits and veggies. I enjoy celery, snap peas, green beans, corn, apple, berries, and lettuce. Try me! In my foster home I have flown to my people, and when I am not sure about something or someone, I make overtures like I might bite, but I`m really just warning you. Learn this with me, and I am very unlikely to bite you. It`s quite clear that I`ve been part of a solo journey and a family journey, so I could adapt to a lot of situations. But I really do want to be part of things, and if you leave me alone, I will call for you and fly to you. I am a very active companion birdie. If you might like to give me this kind of environment where I can thrive and have lots of company, will you contact the amazon coordinator?
