"Tweet", Hey! My name is Lex, I`m a male budgie purchased at Pet Smart in 2108 along with my buddy Parker. Sadly he died last year and I`m alone feeling sad. I used to eat greens and fruit copying what Parker ate . Now that he`s gone, I will only eat seed. I have only lived in my cage so I am Very curious what it might be like to join another budgie to have as my new companion and perhaps even learn to explore outside my cage, too. I hope to copy and learn to eat a more varied and healthier diet again! My human says I bite if you hold me but maybe I could learn to feel safe if you have to hold me to check on my health and I won`t hurt you. I love music and will chirp when it`s played and if you whistle, I will whistle back to you AND I like when you talk to me, too! My cage is currently by a big window and I love seeing other birds outside, I perk up when I see them. I am lonely! I hope you will consider adopting me and bring me into your budgie family so I can flourish. "Tweet", thanks for reading my bio and I hope we meet soon!
In nature, parakeets (budgerigars) live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single parakeet to a household if there is already at least one parakeet living there. Otherwise, parakeets must be adopted in groups of two or more.
