Hi! I`m Mozart, but you can call me Mozy (that`s also what I call myself). In case you were wondering, I was named after THE Mozart. My mom was an opera singer, and Mozart is her favorite composer.
I`ve lived with my mom for my whole life, and she`s loved me very much. She is heartbroken to have to give me up, and it`s by no means my fault. She`s getting so she can`t take care of me anymore and wants me to get the care and attention I deserve.
My mom has given me the best care you can imagine. For instance, I`ve seen the vet regularly all my life. I do pick my feathers, but that doesn`t mean I`m not happy. When I was six, some terrible people were doing heavy construction right next to our house. If jackhammering, trees falling, branches being shredded and other construction noises went on all day for two months near your house, you`d be picking your feathers too. Since then, I haven`t been able to completely break the habit. I`m still a very beautiful bird, though.
Here are some things you might like to know about me:
Mom thinks I`m a boy, but I haven`t been tested, so we can`t know for sure. I`m a really good eater. I enjoy Harrison`s High Potency Course pellets, and my favorite foods are green veggies (steamed or raw), bananas and almonds. I talk A LOT, and I`m known to whistle some jazz scat now and then. I`ll also call out to you if you leave me alone for too long. I like to know where you are! I readily step up if you ask me to, and I`ll lightly touch your hand with my beak to steady myself. If your hand approaches me too fast, though, I`ll give you a gentle nip.
