Pancho

Hello, I`m Pancho, and I`m told I`m a very handsome yellow-naped Amazon. I came to Mickaboo because my companion could no longer care for me. They had me about 15 years and thought I was at least 30. The vet who saw me pointed out that my open band on my ankle indicates that I was wild caught and probably got here in the early 90s at the latest.

I`ve settled well into my foster home, where I have a BFF in the form of another amazon. He`s been teaching me to fly and be less shy. I love head scratches & visiting with new people. My foster mom says I`ve been extremely quiet so far. I will call for you if I want attention, though, and even said "hello." I love to hang out on top of my cage, but I am cautious around strange new toys. I love to get rides around on my rolling playstand, and even though I`m very cautious with hands, I move around with ease, including going into my carrier.

I just love water & bathing outside (while supervised in my cage) with the hummingbirds - you could say we`re birds of a feather. I`m still working to improve my diet, as I used to eat just sunflower seeds. I`m now enjoying a pellet blend, fresh fruits, & veggies. Carrots & apples are my favorites. I`m looking for my forever home - could it be with you?

My video linked below shows me when I first came to Mickaboo, and my BFF didn`t like me back then. My feathers looked far less good than they do now, since I`ve been on this great new diet and enjoyed lots of sunshine and baths. I`m feeling much more handsome and confident now, and I`m a pretty easy-going birbo.
