Original Bio, out of date: We were surrendered to the animal shelter because our owners felt they could no longer take care of us. We just didn`t look right so a Mickaboo volunteer picked us up and took us directly to an avian vet. We spent a few weeks there and are now in a really great foster home. We have a nice big cage, good food, fresh water and most importantly, love and attention. It is a great place to be but we really would like to find that special someone to adopt us and give us a forever home. Dempsey, the beautiful lutino, loves head scratches and a shoulder to surf on. Kingston, the handsome normal grey, prefers to perch on a hand. He loves having his head scratched too. We are very friendly and loving. We are friends but do appreciate our personal space. We`ve got many, many years ahead of us to share with you? If you`d like to take us home please talk to our coordinator!
In nature, cockatiels live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single cockatiel to a household if there is already at least one cockatiel living there. Otherwise, cockatiels must be adopted in groups of two or more.
