Hi everyone, I`m Jax. I was surrendered to Mickaboo with a bunch of other birds, but we don`t have much information of my history. We do think I am an older bird, and my foster describes me as `grumpy`. I`m a great whistler, and I like hanging out with older birds. I`m a pretty laid back guy, and I prefer to keep to myself (and the occasional other bird) - I don`t want to be picked up like some other birds, but I do love a good treat. I am a good flier, but I do not land well and have trouble climbing so I would so better in a modified cage setup with more horizontal bars. I do love my plastic bead and toys that jingle.
In nature, cockatiels live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single cockatiel to a household if there is already at least one cockatiel living there. Otherwise, cockatiels must be adopted in groups of two or more.
