Sugar

"Pretty Bird, Sugar!" That`s one of the things that I say. I am a fun bird; I talk a lot, bark like a dog, and make tool sounds. Similar to a boy named Sue; I`m a boy named Sugar. My mom adopted me from Mickaboo about 15 years ago (when I was 9 years old), but now she has health issues so she`s looking for a new home for me. I`ve had some abuse in the past from male humans, so I prefer female humans. You see, men used to throw things at me and that gave me a general dislike for them. Despite this, I`ve learned to like my dad. He does the feeding and cleaning for me now and holds me because my mom isn`t physically able to do it anymore. My mom loves me very much and I like to sing and dance with her. It`s very important to her that I have a good home to go to. I have my own space in my mom`s office and when she`s not in her office, I can see her in the living room from my room. I am used to having my cage door left open all day until bedtime when I get my cage covered. "Come on" is what I say to you when I want you to come play with me. I like to play fetch. I get noisy when I can`t see my mom or when she`s on the phone or a bunch of people are in the house. I like it when my mom`s around and I can see her. I step-up and climb on my person`s arm to hang out with them. I don`t bite unless I lose my balance on a person`s arm or get scared by something like too many people in the house. My favorite foods include apple, carrot, dried banana, and dried hot peppers. I chew on my feathers when I am stressed but if you give me something else to chew on, like toys or toilet paper, that will help me redirect my chewing to appropriate things. I love toys and I love to chew on wood! I can`t fly because I`ve chewed on my flight feathers.
