Hi, I`m Chessy, a girl budgie who came to Mickaboo from an aviary rescue in March 2022. My flock mates and I all went immediately to the vet due to several beak and cere issues that were visible. I passed my vet checkup and am now in a foster home. I have a malformed beak but it does not affect my eating. I was tested for liver disorder because of this deformity, and everything was normal, so it`s probably a result of malnourishment. I need to be misted daily to help clean out my nose and sinuses.

My malformed beak doesn`t affect my eating! I love the Nutri-an cakes our foster parent feeds us but I have not taken to veggies so far. Hopefully with a loving forever home I can be a completely healthy, fun, entertaining budgie. Maybe with you?

In nature, parakeets (budgerigars) live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single parakeet to a household if there is already at least one parakeet living there. Otherwise, parakeets must be adopted in groups of two or more.
