Today we start a rare six-part story arc from last year of the strip Monty, which features a parrot character named Pilsner but only infrequently plays off the fact that he is a parrot. This arc is an instant classic, in my opinion. Enjoy.
Today, a Cheezburger captioned photo that I saved way back in 2011.
The Mutts story arc from one year ago concludes with Mooch successfully returning the non-fledged bird to its nest ... just in time for a parent bird to show up, skeptical of a cat's intentions.
And now (with apologies to fans of the late Douglas Adams) the fifth episode in what I originally announced as a four-part Mutts story arc from one year ago today.
Part four of last year's Mutts story arc wraps up our month. (There will be a part five and six tomorrow and Monday; when I set up my posting schedule I failed to look forward into May to see if the story arc continued ... and it did.)
All I could think of when I first saw this strip is my own Mickaboo budgie Chaos, who never learned to fly and makes his share of "landings" as a result.
Part three of the Mutts baby bird story from a year ago. Today the strip's main character Mooch the cat enters the picture (and in the Mutts universe, cats do not eat birds):
Part two of the Mutts story arc from last year on a baby bird leaving the nest.
A four-part Mutts story from last year on a baby bird leaving the nest ends the month, starting with this strip from April 27.
This Strange Brew is actually from April 22, 2013, but we were finishing up a multi-part sequence on that day, so you get it today instead. It isn't any less funny for the delay, thank heavens. ("Penguin. James Penguin.")
