I've linked directly to Google's archives to present their famous two-part animated banner transitioning from 2015 to 2016.  December 31 featured birds on a wire anticipating the hatching of the New Year's egg:

I found this in a Google search for an appropriate New Year's Eve toon.  It'a from a blog that I never encountered before -- IzzyBlog -- and apparently the artist who operates it has budgies, because the majority of toons on it feature same.  This is from NYE, seven years ago.
