Bird Toon of the Day - September 12, 2016
Ziggy from September 5 last year (although a lot of Ziggy panels are now reruns, so this may have originally appeared on another date in the past).

A rarity today ... I don't believe I have ever seen a Sherman's Lagoon strip with anything even remotely close to a bird reference, other than this one from today in 2013. Yes, I know there aren't any actual birds in it, but it's still funny. Or at least I think it is:
Speed Bump from two years ago today. Given that original date, does that mean the bird was doing a Hank Williams Jr. impersonation?
WuMo from September 5 of last year. Do we need a veterinarian here ... or a gynecologist?
The comic strip Mother Goose & Grimm spends alternate weeks doing one-shot gags that either don't involve the regular characters or assign them lesser roles. The latter is the case with this entry from September 8, 2011:
Pilsner the parrot has a "night fright" of a different kind in this Monty strip from September 7, 2009:
This month, blog readers get a partial reprieve from the antics of Stupid The Bird as we will only feature Diamond Lil strips twice in September. Here's the first, from September 5, 2013:
This is another of those 'toons that I run across once and then never see again in searches for bird-related comics and cartoons. It's called That's Life, and this is the Sunday panel from September 5, 2004. It's a nice twist on the old pirate and parrot cliché, and at least the parrot isn't called Polly:
Bizarro from September 1, 2014. Speaks for itself.
TODAY IS THE 500th BIRD TOON OF THE DAY POST!!!
To celebrate, a Speed Bump which is one of my personal favorites, from September 1, 2011.
