This is a strip called The Dogs of C-Kennel, and apparently is set in an animal shelter so other types of animals can make appearances. This Sunday panel appeared on this date five years ago:

I seem to be starting off the month with a lot of one-shots. This one is called "The Barn" and was originally published November 2, 2013. Despite the implications from the strip's name, the appearance of this parrot appears to have been a solo occurence:
