Bird Toon of the Day - August 3, 2020
Rhymes With Orange: One devoted parrot.
Rhymes With Orange: One devoted parrot.
Peanuts: A classic strip from 1970, originally the conclusion of a six-day story arc. Woodstock's reaction in the last panel is priceless.
Half Full: The parrot knows what the pirate will want next and has a nice play on words for it.
We close the month with another of Geoffrey Hewer-Candee's "Animal Problems" comics, in which he takes human foibles and shows how the animal kingdom would deal with them.
Diamond Lil: Stupid the Bird makes the most of recurring barfly character Herman's sunburn. (The artist usually does a whole week of strips each summer about this, but this is the first time Stupid appeared in any of them.)
The Other Coast: Everyone wants to cool off in the summer.
Speed Bump: The toon equivalent of "breaking the fourth wall" where the characters in the comic are self-aware of it.
Six Chix: A modern-day reworking of the 1874 fable "The Little Red Hen".
WuMo: The avian equivalent of a nose job?
Strange Brew: A different kind of audiobook.
