Check out this video of Shen and her friend, Q-Tip. Hello! I came to Mickaboo in 2025 with a broken leg. After some time at the vet, where I got treatment, I moved to a foster home for recovery. I had a splint on my leg for some time and lived in a modified cage, but now I`m in a regular flight cage with my buddy, Q-Tip (we are not bonded!). I have a missing toe, but I generally move around normally that you`d never know I ever had a broken leg! I perch just fine but I occasionally have an "oops" landing. My foster thinks I`m quite young and I`m also very active!

In nature, parakeets (budgerigars) live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single parakeet to a household if there is already at least one parakeet living there. Otherwise, parakeets must be adopted in groups of two or more.
