Our last owner was a man and Ginger shows a preference for men, but Monty will step up for someone that he knows. We have our own cages, and we should keep our own cages for sleeping in at night safely, but during the day we are happy to have the doors open and we`ll hang out on top of our cages together and visit each other and steal each other`s food :)
We are on a good pelleted diet and we also should have fresh veggie chop every day. We have seen a vet recently and we are both healthy. We are in our mid 20s. Ginger likes to mumble at night - it sounds like words but we can`t make them out! Get in touch if you would like to learn more about this adorable duo!
This is a courtesy listing from Mickaboo as we haven`t yet taken this dynamic duo into foster care (we have several macaws waiting for help) however if you are an approved adopter with us who has gone through our process and you are interested in Ginger and Monty, we`ll be happy to refer you to the owner and put you in contact. (March 2024).
Note that red fronted macaws are listed as endangered. They are native to Bolivia and nest on steep sided river cliffs. Learn more about them here, and please consider supporting their conservation: https://abcbirds.org/bird/red-fronted-macaw/
