UPDATE: I`m Leo. I have left the hospital and am now doing very well. I`m stable, active, and have a good appetite. I`m currently living with another budgie, who is very nice. The nasty wound on my face made it harder to tell, but my vet says I`m a boy. (like all budgies, I like to tease people, so I`m not saying!!) I was found as a stray. I was not doing very well, but I got medical attention, and have been doing my best to get better. Thanks to Mickaboo, I have a chance to find a forever home and be very happy. Won`t you consider giving me that chance?
In nature, parakeets (budgerigars) live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single parakeet to a household if there is already at least one parakeet living there. Otherwise, parakeets must be adopted in groups of two or more.
