Hi, I`m a young budgie! Somehow I ended up outside and a neighborhood cat found me - oh man that was scary, the cat got me and if it hadn`t been for a nice lady who heard the commotion and intervened, I wouldn`t have made it! She scooped me up and called animal control, and once I was at the SVACA they contacted Mickaboo as they could see that I was injured. I have a possible wing fracture and some puncture injuries but I`m in the hospital now and on antibiotics, so hopefully I will make a full recovery. What a close call!

If we cannot find my original family, once I recover, I will need a new forever home that will keep me safe inside and away from cats! Could that be you??

In nature, parakeets (budgerigars) live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single parakeet to a household if there is already at least one parakeet living there. Otherwise, parakeets must be adopted in groups of two or more.
