Hi, I'm Sunshine but my foster Mom calls me Sunny.

I lived with my previous owner for 16 years, but they couldn't keep me anymore so I came to Mickaboo. I was very shy at first when I arrived at my foster Mom's house. I just wanted to stay in my cage and observed the world from there. However, over time, I've become more confident and I'm now happy to spend time outside of my cage. I've even become friends with my foster family's cockatiel, and we spend a great deal of time hanging out together. My foster Mom even said that she almost can`t recognize me from the bird that arrived, because I now climb around and I'm so much more involved in life. Hands are still not my thing and I'm not good yet at stepping up, but I will step up on a wooden perch and can be moved around that way.

I'm now eating a more varied diet including pellets and greens, and my foster Mom says that I look healthier.

If you are interested in adopting me, please reach out to the cockatiel coordinator.

In nature, cockatiels live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single cockatiel to a household if there is already at least one cockatiel living there. Otherwise, cockatiels must be adopted in groups of two or more.
