Hi, I`m Sunshine but my foster Mom calls me Sunny.

I lived with my previous owner for 16 years, but they couldn`t keep me anymore so I came to Mickaboo. I was very shy at first when I arrived at my foster Mom`s house. I just wanted to stay in my cage and observed the world from there. However, over time, I`ve become more confident and I`m now happy to spend time outside of my cage. I`ve even become friends with my foster family`s cockatiel, and we spend a great deal of time hanging out together. My foster Mom even said that she almost can`t recognize me from the bird that arrived, because I now climb around and I`m so much more involved in life. Hands are still not my thing and I`m not good yet at stepping up, but I will step up on a wooden perch and can be moved around that way.

I`m now eating a more varied diet including pellets and greens, and my foster Mom says that I look healthier.

If you are interested in adopting me, please reach out to the cockatiel coordinator.

In nature, cockatiels live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single cockatiel to a household if there is already at least one cockatiel living there. Otherwise, cockatiels must be adopted in groups of two or more.
