UPDATE. Johnnie continues to eat a healthy diet and be a friendly, silly guy. He loves his toys and is pretty good at foraging for his Harrisons pellets. He needs to go to a home with 1-2 other birds for the ambiant company. UPDATE from new foster home: Johnnie continues to be a friendly, funny guy. He continues to need regular beak trims. He eats a healthy diet and appreciates whatever you may offer him in vegetable/fruit/pellet/seed/nut form. Johnnie needs to be adopted to a home that has other birds around, as he much appreciates the ambiant socializing. He loves his foraging toys. 10/26/2023- UPDATED: Johnnie continues to be outgoing and sociable and eat a healthy diet. He is being seen by an avian vet for Lupron shots due to his plucking, which he exhibited since he lived with his previous owner after the owner fell ill and moved out of the home. Johnnie may need ongoing treatment by an avian vet to receive Lupron shots, and he may also need beak trims from an avian vet to manage beak overgrowth. 08/29/2023- UPDATE from foster home: Johnnie is an outgoing, curious, affectionate, people-oriented caique who loves to rub this beak and face through fingers and toes. He loves to have his beak stroked, be turned upside down, and wrestle. He easily steps up and step down. He is interactive in his conversations with humans. Johnnie adores showers and is a good eater. Johnnie is adjusting well to his foster home! He is eating well and really enjoying his out of cage time. Johnnie eats pellets and fruits. He also likes seeds, but those should be saved as treats. Johnnie has so far been cooperative when it`s time to return to his cage. Johnnie plucks his feathers.
