Update from Dr. Boo Boo, July 2024:

I`m a gentle and well-adjusted bird. I`m not much of a biter (by grey standards, that is). I used to say a few words when I was with my mom, but I haven`t let my foster parents hear them yet. I love to whistle, though, and I love being whistled to! I also love music, and I`ll dance if you dance!

I love food, including fruits and veggies. I eat Harrison`s pellets, but recently my foster family ran out of my usual pellets, and I was happy to try a new type. I`m also pretty clean. I don`t fling my food around like some other birds, and I don`t try to chew the paper at the bottom of my cage. I`m not uncivilized, for goodness sake.

I readily step up onto a perch whenever someone opens my cage. I like to sit on shoulders, but my foster parents won`t let me do that--something about being bitten too many times by other, obviously uncivilized birds. I don`t have a preference for men or women, I`m happy to interact with anyone. I also enjoy the company of other birds, and would like to have bird friends as well as human friends.

I am a wonderful bird, and I have no faults--as long as you know what to expect from an African grey. If you think you can give me the loving home I deserve, hit the link below to contact my species coordinator.

Dr. Boo Boo is a lovely Congo African Grey who`s lived with her person for 20+ years. Her caregiver is experiencing health and aging issues and has asked us to find a kind human to adopt her. While Dr. Boo Boo hasn`t been DNA tested, the surrenderer believes the bird to be a female. She`s been very well cared for over the years, receiving avian veterinary care and a healthy diet with vitamin supplements. She likes hanging out on her ring stand, enjoys head scritches, and whistles melodies. She`ll tell you that you`re a wacko and if you`re lucky she`ll quack like a duck.
