Hi, I`m Tutti Frutti. Isn`t that a cute name? I ended up at Berkeley Animal Shelter in February 2023 looking very sick. My eyes kept closing and I was fluffed up and lethargic. The shelter staff were concerned about me and asked Mickaboo if they could help. Luckily they got a nice volunteer to come pick me up the same day and after spending some time at the vet I made a full recovery and am reading to find my forever home!
In nature, parakeets (budgerigars) live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single parakeet to a household if there is already at least one parakeet living there. Otherwise, parakeets must be adopted in groups of two or more.
