I`m Hampton. I came in as a stray to a shelter and had some pretty obvious medical issues, so the shelter contacted Mickaboo to get me some help. I can`t grip things with my feet, so I`ll need a special cage with wide perches and lots of places to sit. However, don`t think I`m not agile - I`m a great flier, and I`ve mastered landing wherever I want to. My current foster says I`m not hand tame and not really interested in being so; I whistle like a songbird, so she thinks I might have spent a lot of time in an outdoor aviary. If you`ve got a lot of space, I`d love to see what the view is like.
In nature, cockatiels live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single cockatiel to a household if there is already at least one cockatiel living there. Otherwise, cockatiels must be adopted in groups of two or more.
