Thank you for visiting my page! I won`t yell loudly over the other amazons to get attention, as I am just too shy. In fact, I`m pretty wary of new people, hands, new objects, other big birds, and most definitely children. My happy place is getting my almond treats, and that`s pretty much all that makes me happy other than maybe sitting quietly near a human where I can have your company and ambient attention, but you don`t touch or handle me. My foster mom has learned from being bitten how to avoid that happening further. I have trained her to give me an almond in order to do things like change my food and water. You`re gonna reach around my stuff? Well, almond is your price! I do enjoy hearing music and singing bird sounds, playing with my toys/ringing my bell, and watching other humans and birds at a distance. But small humans and big birds should be a big distance, as they can scare me. I may be a grumpy guy, but I`ve been known to chortle with enjoyment when I`m particularly pleased with a toy and I will enjoy that. The true way I communicate the most is with varying pitch, volume, and length of HELLO. If you`re really not getting me I might tell you HELLO in a very exasperated tone. Don`t you get me? You should. An almond will usually work, but if I`m really upset about a wrong in my world I might also say SHUT UP.

Might you want to have a grumpy old man living out my senior years with you? I don`t like to be handled, but I will sit on the closest cage perch to my human and be happy with some toys and your company. And of course almonds! I`m not so fond of veggies but you could try. I am a healthy guy in my 40s.
