I was found as an adult, not doing so well, when Mickaboo rescued a few years ago. I was treated at the vet and then went to live in a great foster home, a little shy at first, but now I am happy and loved, though sometimes still a little wobbly.
After a month or so of living under a cotton diaper at my foster home, I weakly tottered my way to the edge of the cage door while my human held her breath. I stood for a few minutes, wavering, then dove right back into my blankie. I needed to find my own way to wellness. Slowly I came out and began a new life enjoying myself as a member of the family. I talk to her now, making those happy conure-y, crunchy sounds. I yell, I vigorously flap my wings, and then I fall gently to the floor and climb up my stick and flap my wings some more!! When she puts an apple into my dish each morning, I rush to get it in a blur of brilliant green and red. She calls me the Christmas Cookie Monster!!
I take long, big, sloppy baths and get a morning spritz every day. Best of all is when my Mickaboo Success Story friends Flynn (a Fisher`s love bird) and Pippin (a white parakeet) fly to the top of my cage. Usually, I chase them off immediately, but sometimes I will share my toys and play with them.
I love to chow down on my Roudybush pellets, and I like tearing up the whole leaf of whatever greens my family is eating. I will even take a sunflower seed directly from my human`s hand (AMAZING!!!) After I put myself to bed at night in my blankie tent, I pop my head back out and gaze at her with soft eyes. . . then, in a flurry, settle into the night, strong!!! I know that I`m not alone and I`m happy and, most of all, that I am LOVED!!!!
