Hi there, Amber`s my name!

I was part of a flock of 5 cockatiels who were rescued from living in a cramped and unpleasant outdoor-only cage typically used for finches. One of my flock mates was attacked and killed by a rat and another was badly injured! I, however, have a clean bill of health, though I have laid too many eggs to count before being rescued. In my current home, they are keeping an eye on me and are hoping I can stop.

I`m a Lutino female with some pearling on my back. I also have some pretty orange flecks on my face and back. I make a funny BWOOP chirping noise that I invented. Maybe a local wild bird taught me -- I forgot. I have never been handled and am not tame and pretty afraid of humans. I don`t know how old I am but I think it`s between 3 and 10 years old.

In nature, cockatiels live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single cockatiel to a household if there is already at least one cockatiel living there. Otherwise, cockatiels must be adopted in groups of two or more.
