Bird Toon of the Day - December 3, 2015
Remembering the "fatty french fries" scandal at McDonalds from a half-decade ago, here's Bizarro from August 10, 2010:

A rather amusing comment on syntax is included in this Strange Brew take on the old clichéd saying, from January 3, 2014:
Some members of the Board of Directors have put up matching funds to be used in a Challenge Grant, a la public television’s challenge grants. On December 5, 9 am - 9 pm Pacific Time, for every $3 donated online or in person, an additional $1 will be given to Mickaboo. Party-goers can watch the money grow via a thermometer chart! We will also post periodically to our FaceBook page.
If you're coming to the party - consider donating there. If you can't come and want to help, donate online at www.mickaboo.org (9 am - 9 pm PT on Saturday, Dec 5). (The donation buttons are at the upper left of www.mickaboo.org.)
Need to RSVP for the party, or want a reminder about what to bring, where the parking garage is, and other details? Learn more and RSVP here.
We are gratefull for the many in-kind donors to our Holiday Party silent auction and raffle - see who they are here.
Another Jason Love "Snapshot" starts off the last month of the year.
Looking for something to get us back into mainstream toons after our Thanksgiving marathon, I found this recaptioned photo from Cheezburger of November 14, 2014. It got me wondering about whether there really are vanilla-flavored Peeps so I Googled and discovered that there are ... but they are made for Independence Day, not Christmas! (No charge for additional trivia.)
To wrap up our Thanksgiving-themed toon parade, Speed Bump from November 23, 2014.
Another post-Thanksgiving laugh, from Diamond Lil of November 30, 2014. It should be noted that a running seasonal gag in the strip is that Lil is so bad a cook that the local senior center rebuffs her volunteering to cook Thanksgiving dinner there every year.
An appropriately-themed "Noodles" for the day after Thanksgiving. Judging from the calendar page, this was drawn in 2011.
For Thanksgiving Day itself, we have the Mutts strip that appeared the day after, two years ago (November 29, 2013). Happy Thanksgiving, indeed!
MyPetShirts is offering a wonderful opportunity to raise funds for Mickaboo Companion Bird Rescue! MyPetShirts donated a t-shirt toMickaboo for our holiday fundraiser, and then thought, "Hey, they are doing great things for the birds and the bird people! Why don't we do something a little bigger?" (Incidentally, MyPetShirts's owners have two rescued parrotlets, pictured at right.)
And so began the Holiday T-shirt Drive. It's quite simple.
The T-Shirt Drive runs from Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2015 through December 9, 2015 at Midnight ET.
Any orders using the coupon code "MICKABOO15" will count towards the fundraiser. As more shirts are sold, the percentage of revenue donated to Mickaboo grows.
Remember, this is per shirt, not per order! So if you order two shirts and a hoodie, that scores three shirts! If you tell ten friends about it and they each order one shirt... Okay, you get the idea. Buy your holiday gifts for your animal-loving friends here (don't forget the Mickaboo15 code!), and spread the word on Facebook and Instagram and Twitter and any other social media outlet you'd like.
*The shirts are hilarious, pet-themed silly things. Bird shirts, cat shirts, dog shirts. They are for people to wear, not animals. Check out the website. www.mypetshirts.com. Remember to use the Mickaboo15 coupon code for any orders!
** Sales tax and shipping costs will be excluded from the donation calculation.
***The Mickaboo15 code will also get you 1% off the normal price. MyPetShirts had to do that to get the coupon code function to work. When you get to your shopping cart, click the blue link on the right that says "Apply shop coupon code."
