Bird Toon of the Day - July 28, 2023
Tundra: Excuse me? Birds like brussels sprouts!
Tundra: Excuse me? Birds like brussels sprouts!
Birdbrains: Apparently the chickens don't know why either ...
Broom Hilda: Hey, we all need that.
Speed Bump: That's some summer romance, all right.
Strange Brew: Why penguins shouldn't bother with "Public Speaking For Dummies".
Gil was a comic strip created by Norm Feuti, who also drew the strip Retail from 2006 to 2020. This started as a side project, and when it didn't take off in syndication he continued to produce Sunday editions for his local newspaper, the Providence Journal, until new management cancelled it at the end of last year. This is the only time I remember him featuring birds in any way. (And you can't really blame Gil for his attitude after this.)
Show Me The Funny: Another selection from Bob Mankoff's collection of toons from his days as an editor at The New Yorker, among other notable magazines. The artist is Jacob Samuel Fox, the year and original publication unknown.
Six Chix: Hipsters. They're everywhere.
The Far Side: A bad play on words and double entendre simultaneously.
Cheezburger: A meme from the early days of the pandemic.
