Gil was a comic strip created by Norm Feuti, who also drew the strip Retail from 2006 to 2020. This started as a side project, and when it didn't take off in syndication he continued to produce Sunday editions for his local newspaper, the Providence Journal, until new management cancelled it at the end of last year. This is the only time I remember him featuring birds in any way. (And you can't really blame Gil for his attitude after this.)
