Patrick McDonnell, who draws the delightful "Mutts" comic, is a big supporter of pet adoption and usually does a week-long series called "Shelter Stories" once or twice a year. Last November, he did one focusing on chicken adoption, and I'm going to repost it over the next several days for those who missed it in the newspaper. The series starts with this strip from November 3, 2014:
Mike Du Jour is a strip I hadn't heard of before someone called my attention to this one, from June 20, 2014. I have no idea whether or not there are more bird-related ones from this cartoonist in the archives or not; when I have time I'll see.
Bizarro from October 21, 2014. Of course.
A follow-up of sorts to the Peanuts strip posted here about a month ago. This was originally published March 17, 1966 (which is seven years before the strip posted earlier). Maybe Charles Schulz could see what he would draw in the future. I don't know.
Another entry in the "bird poop on cars" category, this time from Cheezburger, originally posted there March 17, 2012.
WuMo from January 18, 2014. Apparently it is a bird (in reference to the famous opening of "Superman" on both television and radio). I love the expressions on the two real birds' faces.
A Frank and Ernest strip that I actually find amusing! From July 16, 2009.
A Mutts strip from December 12, 2012 (yes, 12-12-12) dedicated to those birds which do not, for whatever reason, migrate.
We raised 88% of the $9,000 goal we were striving for. THANKS for the generosity from both the people who attended the Holiday Party and the many of you who could not attend! This financial backing will help us pay about a week's worth of veterinary bills, helping our birds recover their physical health on their way toward becoming adoptable.
Have a great holiday season!
