Part two of three from Mutts, October 14, 2010.
Part two of three from Mutts, October 14, 2010.
Each October, Patrick McDonnell devotes a strip or set of strips to the annual fall migration of wild birds. I'm going to post them through the month, starting with a three-strip story arc from 2010. Installment #1 appeared on October 13 of that year:
Strange Brew from March 17, 2011 features an out-of-place Fabergé egg.
Another "birds in therapy" gag, from Bizarro of October 5, 2007.
This 'toon is a real oddity. Created by Israeli Yaakov Kirschen, the vast majority of his work is related to countering the rewriting of history and fighting anti-Semitism. So the below cartoon is a bit out of place (in fact, it is the only bird-related toon on his site), even though he explains its meaning on his blog.
Speed Bump from February 4, 2014 (with apologies to Katy Perry, or Miley Cyrus, or whoever that was) ...
Here's a one-shot from stand-up comic Jason Love, who moonlights as a cartoonist. I only discovered his work recently so we'll have more from him in the future as soon as I figure out how the search engine on his website works.
Loose Parts from December 6, 2013. Speaks for itself.
This Peanuts Sunday strip (sorry, no color) was part of a story arc that ran over subsequent Sundays in May, 1965 in which a pair of birds build their nest atop Snoopy's doghouse, forcing him to sleep atop the mailbox at the curb. This is the concluding installment, from May 30th:
Another bad play on words from Frank & Ernest, August 21, 2009.
