Sub-Species: Standard Budgie
Adopted on 2024-10-31
Hi, I`m Kelly, a female budgie who came to Mickaboo via the Alameda shelter after my owner sadly passed away. I came in with my two sisters, Chi & Camilla. We have been with our foster mom for about 9 months now. Our `sister` Camilla was adopted to be a companion for another Mickaboo budgie adoptee ! We are finally feeling comfortable in our home. We get plenty of good things to eat. Kelly loves to eat Kale, and is pretty good letting foster Mom reach over us to attach it to the cage. We got a great new toy Mom made JUST for us, and after 2 weeks, we are playing with and shredding it... Lots of fun! We`d love to be adopted together. .

Check out this feature video about me from Mickaboo`s April 2023 online adoption event.

In nature, parakeets (budgerigars) live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single parakeet to a household if there is already at least one parakeet living there. Otherwise, parakeets must be adopted in groups of two or more.
