Looks like PIJAC is going to be pretty busy...

Lots of "issues of concern to the pet industry, hobbyists and pet owners" happening all over the country it looks like... http://www.pijac.org/petinformation/breakingnews.asp -- Elizabeth Until they all have homes, don't buy, don't breed- adopt. www.RescueReport.org www.MickaCoo.org http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGjyooh3Yo0

Did you notice that PIJSC had standards of pet care for retailers? They are pretty thorough but who follows these standards? Petco? It's not like they are going to kick someone out for not following them. There isn't any enforcement. Karen M. There is something nasty and reprehensible about a group referring to
themselves as the "pet industry". It is demeaning and soulless.
At least, that's the way it strikes me.

Interesting stuff. I've heard a lot of people summarily write off the SF ban proposal as the product of an ultra-liberal political climate. Yet we see on PIJAC's action page that similar legislation, either banning the sale of pets or increasing controls on stores that sell them, in Texas (two cities!), Ohio, Illinois, New York, Colorado . . . none of which are known for their tree-hugging hippies. --VH From: media-advisors-bounces@mickaboo.org [mailto:media-advisors-bounces@mickaboo.org] On Behalf Of Elizabeth Young Sent: Monday, July 19, 2010 10:44 PM To: media-advisors@mickaboo.org Subject: [Media-advisors] Looks like PIJAC is going to be pretty busy... California (and SF) have lead on many issues, but not as many as California (and SF) think. In this case, it is energizing to know that the states in the middle are moving ahead. Maybe we should point that out - that SF is falling behind. On Mon, Jul 19, 2010 at 11:24 PM, Vincent J. Hrovat <1217@vhrovat.org>wrote:
