A BIG THANKS needs to go out to Donna Hauser, for taking in Herkimer and Ellis so quickly that they have a warm place to live and allowing them to stay for as long as they have. A BIG THANKS also needs to go out to Julie Schroeder for stepping up and helping me to move these two Amazons from Sacramento to Vallejo. AND A HUGE AMOUNT OF HEALTHY VIBES needs to go out to Tom who is sick right now, poor guy. take care of yourself! (and congrats on adopting Horatio!) As always, Mickaboo volunteers are the BEST. We can always count on eachother to get things done and to be there for eachother. I can't think of a better family to be a part of. There are two solutions to this.. 1) Is there anyone who would be able to help in the transportation of these 2 amazons from Placerville/Sacramento area to Daly City (which is just at the southern border of San Francisco). I am willing to drive to any point on the peninsula to meet you to pick these birds up. 2) Is there anyone who would be able to house these two amazons short-term till Tom gets better and is able to transport them to me next week? Thanks to everyone who was trying to help. Special thanks to Sherry Helms who will make the transport happen and to Tom McMasters-Stone, who is even now racing to West Sacramento to move Horatio so Kelly Sinn, the foster mom, can disinfect Horatio's cage for the new macaw Max. And Horatio is going back to live forever with Tom and his family - no longer a foster bird but a regular member of the flock. Good things keep happening in Mickaboo. Hi! We have a friendly Blue & Gold macaw at Medical Center for the Birds that needs to be taken to his foster home in West Sacramento. If anyone has a medium size dog carrier and time to take a drive this afternoon, Max could be ready to leave about 4 PM. Or we can arrange for a release tomorrow. Please help. [Mickaboo Action] Help catch lost bird in Sunnyvale

Hi! This message is for South Bay folk who might be willing to catch a lost parrot in Sunnyvale. I spoke with a woman who left a message on our phone line about a large green bird with bright blue shoulders and an orange beak that landed in her atrium. The bird is obviously tame because it was tapping on the windows to get their attention. She went out with some food and it flew into some trees.She has not seen it again. She has contacted her local humane society who will do nothing until the bird is confined. The bird was seen on Blanchard Way near cross streets Fremont & Mary, Cascade & Hollenbeck. Anyone who has time to help, please contact Susan (408) 718-3967. I have referred Susan to our information about catching strays and she will call me if she sees it again. Thanks. Hi Again! We have a very willing and eager couple in Fresno who want to foster either an amazon or a macaw. We don't dare let them off the radar.
