Tame feral pigeon being surrendered and in need of an indoor pet foster home

Hello- A baby feral pigeon was rescued a few months back and, rather than getting rehab and release care, was treated as a pet. Lucky is now tame and unreleasable but his/her rescuers are moving back to Malaysia and can't take Lucky with them. (They are taking their cats and for that I am grateful.) Lucky will be surrendered to MickaCoo early next week and we need an indoor/pet type-foster home for Lucky to be happiest. Note: Lucky has had cat friends. Please contact me at AdoptKings@gmail.com if you think you'd like to foster an expressive, friendly, smart, quiet and cute little tame pigeon. Thanks, e -- Elizabeth PLEASE vote for Mickaboo & 'Coo today and every day this month to help us win a MUCH needed $50K grant! http://www.refresheverything.c om/mickaboobirdrescue Until they all have homes, don't buy, don't breed- adopt. www.RescueReport.org www.MickaCoo.org http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGjyooh3Yo0

Wow, they are such beautiful birds. I'm guessing that pigeons and parrots don't mix, though. Actually, that's a good question: how do people handle mixed flocks of pigeons and parrots? My assumption is they would have to be kept completely separate. The outdoor band-tailed pigeons are scared to death of my birds (and vice-versa). --john On Jan 6, 2011, at 9:05 PM, Elizabeth Young wrote:

They need to be supervised as with any other captive bird relationship but
they do fine. Pigeons and doves are much more at risk of injury than the
parrots because they have soft, non-biting beaks and temperaments. My
conure Tookie really appreciates the foster flock of doves and pigeons I
have indoors and pays keen attention to their activities. Tookie fancies
himself the supervisor, I think. That said, mine pretty much limit their
interactions to watching each other.
