I would recommend one section for articles specifically about Mickaboo (think of a corporation's Press Room subsite) and another for other articles related to our mission. Thanks. I will remove the article that doesn't mention us by name from the outfacing web page for now but will keep it in my back-office work area. I may decide later to look up a few similar articles to justify a "Related to our Mission" subsection. One thing to keep in mind throughout this is that someone will have to do at least a little upkeep work going forward and we all have time constraints, etc. On that basis I am inclined to keep things simple. --VH From: media-advisors-bounces@mickaboo.org [mailto:media-advisors-bounces@mickaboo.org] On Behalf Of Lee, Pamela A Sent: Thursday, March 24, 2011 2:53 PM To: media-advisors@mickaboo.org Subject: [Media-advisors] news articles I would recommend one section for articles specifically about Mickaboo (think of a corporation's Press Room subsite) and another for other articles related to our mission. http://confluence.mickaboo.org/display/MBPublic/Our+Reading+Room I have changed and expanded Reading Room's news/press area slightly, as follows: -Changed the header from "Mickaboo in the News!" to "Press Room." -Added new article, about squab and featuring Mickacoo, that Elizabeth sent me. - Added new sub-bullet, "Related Articles." For now it has two entries, one the article from Minnesota that I mentioned a few days ago and the second is the article that I linked to in discuss list about how well the guy takes care of his ducks, etc. (it is, arguably, a bit of a stretch, but if nothing else is an enjoyable read and does reflect the kind of care and love that we give our birds). - Added a "Press releases - coming soon" teaser. Please let me know of your thoughts or concerns. My concern about the "Related Articles" is that we should be careful about posting articles about other rescues there. We don't know when other organizations will get into PR trouble or will deviate from their mission to the point that our publicizing them is a liability rather than an asset to Mickaboo. That being said, I think that the Minnesota Star-Tribune piece is strong and is more focused on the elements of bird rescue rather than on the other organization that it mentions. Thanks. --VH

I think this is great and would love to see this link shared broadly on the Discussion Group, in the upcoming newsletter if possible, and on the public-facing webpage so that it is easy for people to see/share all of these articles. All this positive PR helps to communicate what it is we do and why and it adds another level of validation to the experience. IMO Thank you SO much, Vinny! e On Tue, Mar 29, 2011 at 2:13 PM, Vincent J. Hrovat <1217@vhrovat.org> wrote:

-We had one press release officially describing Mickaboo's position on proposed SF pet sale legislation. Is that still online and what is the URL for it? If not online, 1.) Do we want it to be? And, 2.) If so, where can I find the text? -Did we ever finish the CY2010 press release that we were so close on a while back? If so, where is it? If not, what do we need to do to get it completed? I know that we are all busy, but I do want to keep us moving on what I hope will be helpful publicity. Thanks. --VH

I think both press releases were finished, and I've got them on my computer. I'll see if I can attach here. p ps oop, I don't see the 2010 release about the pet sales. Not sure why-- not enough time now. 2011 one is attached.

I see the 2010 pet sale ban releas attached but not the 2010 annual results, which would be dated 2011. --VH -----Original Message----- From: media-advisors-bounces@mickaboo.org [mailto:media-advisors-bounces@mickaboo.org] On Behalf Of pblau@sonic.net Sent: Wednesday, March 30, 2011 5:30 PM To: Mickaboo media advisor team Subject: Re: [Media-advisors] Press releases!
