If we do intake these birds, I hope this person doesn't demand them back after the world doesn't end this weekend (assuming, of course, that it won't). Maybe we should include a clause in our surrender agreement indemnifying us and holding the surrender still in effect in the event of non-rapture.

I just received confirmation that the birds are in the shelter. "Sonoma County Animal Control Director was out here herself at 7.pm." Also, the guy who was threatening to have them euthanized does have a support network of good people, which brought back (a little of) my faith in human nature. And I will profusely thank Marti Bryant, the neighbor who publicized this so well.
