Wow. I hope that you have passed on to Sally in the strongest possible terms that this is NOT the way that Mickaboo does things, that it pisses all of us off to read, and that she can forward this to Rick and Ellen French as she sees appropriate.

Really repugnant.
But then, who among Mickaboo would have their unlisted home number?

I think everyone is correct. If you would like, Elizabeth, I would be
happy to respond to Sally's email in an official capacity. (I'm hoo-ome).

I think she said three since Thursday. The threats are that they will burn down either the store or the home, that the caller knows where they live. They've filed police reports with both SF and East Bay police (they live in the East Bay) about the phone calls. If you hear anything about who might be responsible, please call the cops and tell them. Threatening phone calls are absolutely unacceptable, no exceptions, not to mention highly immoral.
Elizabeth, they also said a woman who gave her name as Virginia called their store today and said she was with Mickaboo and she wanted to buy a lovebird from their store. Do you have any idea who that might be? I'm assuming this too was a harassing phone call and not from Mickaboo since I can't imagine why Mickaboo would be trying to get birds from a store. Or did they misunderstand the phone call and were you trying to place a lovebird with them? Needless to say, they believe the phone call really came from Mickaboo and it was intended to harass them. Any ideas who might be behind this? -- Sally

and can we pllleeeaaassse offer to be very active in pursuing this.....telephone terrorist. I would happily pay for a phone tracing service in order to prove that we are not at all involved w/ this nonsense. I would like to see the police report. I'll say it again----I smell something really fishy. I don't trust them as far as I could throw them (I suppose I should be careful about my language there...) tammy On Aug 8, 2010, at 11:02 PM, Michelle Yesney wrote:

Tracing most calls is easy these days if you have the access and the authority. If the calls were done on a cell phone, their location can be estimated by knowing which tower first picked up the signal from their handset. If the phone is currently on, the provider can triangulate from multiple towers (comparing distances) to get a higher degree of accuracy. The perpetrator’s worst nightmare is if their cell phone is GPS-capable and its tracker is on, even if they are not paying for GPS service. This can find pinpoint their location within a few meters. I wonder if any reporters are aware of this story. I’m not saying that they should or shouldn’t be – who knows how they would spin it – but they would have inside contacts in the police department and elsewhere that might help to get this researched. --VH From: media-advisors-bounces@mickaboo.org [mailto:media-advisors-bounces@mickaboo.org] On Behalf Of Tammy Azzaro Sent: Sunday, August 08, 2010 11:54 PM To: Mickaboo media advisor team Subject: Re: [Media-advisors] URGENT Question about Mickaboo and can we pllleeeaaassse offer to be very active in pursuing this.....telephone terrorist. I think we have to have an official response that
Mickaboo is not responsible and we have not
tolerated illegal activities in the past and will
not tolerate it now.
