[Mickaboo Action] Moustache Parakeet

All, We have been contacted by someone that needs to surrender a moustache parakeet. I don't know much detail, but the contacting person apparently inherited the bird from a deceased friend. I know a couple of you have moustache parakeets, and wondered if any of you would be interested in fostering or owning a second bird. Or if you know someone who would be interested. Or if you would be willing to post to the group with details about what kind of companion such a bird would be. I know only that it is similar to a ring neck. And, I know we have no foster or adoptive homes waiting for ring necks. Help!!! Michelle

Hi there-- We are getting in a CAG from Peninsula Humane Society and we need a foster home for him. He's been in the shelter since November, poor guy, so we'd love to get him out of there ASAP. His name is Gwin. He's 25 years old and is a plucker. He steps up, doesn't talk, but mimics other sounds. Let me know if you can foster him, even for a short time. Hi! We are taking in three macaws today and two have been picked up and moved to their foster homes. However, we have a snag on the third. The foster parent, who also does horse rescue, is waiting for the delivery of a horse and will not be able to pick up the macaw today. [Mickaboo Action] Huggy The Macaw

Hi! We have almost survived the current Macaw Madness but not quite. Huggy, a 16 year old Blue & Gold, doesn't have a foster home yet although I was able to find temporary places for his two house mates. This is the bird whose owner died last week and his mom is selling her house and moving out this weekend. She needs the birds gone soon so they can start major cleaning for open house. Shorty and Sarge are leaving this week. Is there anyone who will take Huggy? I have contacted the Peninsula Humane Society in San Mateo and persuaded them to take him HOWEVER we have to take one of their big birds so they can have room for Huggy's cage. So far that hasn't happened either. If anyone is able to provide short term housing for Huggy I would be so relieved. I just don't want to fail Huggy or his bereaved family, who is extremely grateful for Mickaboo's help right now. Please . . . . Hi folks ~ We may have a Green Cheek Conure coming into the Mickaboo system on Friday. Deb M-K told me this about him: The conure is a GCC whose feathers have that very plucked look, but the problem extends to the top portion of his head. Very friendly little guy, not clipped, found as a stray in El Sobrante. The officer coaxed him out of a woman's yard with a cracker. If any of you would like to foster this little guy, please let me know!
