This is the first of a series of interviews of Mickaboo’s new home visit team. The home visit is an important step in our adoption/fostering process. It gives the potential adopter or fosterer a chance to have a 1-1 meeting with a volunteer to ask questions and get feedback. It also allows any potential dangers in the home environment to be identified and discussed. I always tell folks we leave our white gloves at home LOL; we are only concerned about seeing if there are potential hazards or dangers for the bird(s) coming into the home. "...an organization that benefits not only pigeons and doves..."

When I was in the 7th grade, I went to summer camp at a local animal shelter. On one of the days, a Palomacy volunteer came in to present on pigeons. At the time, I thought the whole concept of rescuing pigeons was a bit weird, but I didn’t know how much it would end up shaping my future. View PDF in a new window |

Hi, My name is Jojo and I`m a 26 year old Congo African Grey. My person is leaving the country and can`t take me with. So, here I am in a nice Mickaboo foster home. I`ve already started talking in my foster home. I can say "hello" in a man`s voice. You have to hear it for yourself......very cool. I`ll update you all after I settle in and get comfortable here. I`m looking forward to the next exciting chapter of my life. Maybe with you? Read More... |
