Sub-Species: Standard Budgie

Hi, I`m Bethie, a blue and white girl budgie who came to Mickaboo via the Silicon Valley Humane Society in January 2022. I am shy, cute, and quiet.

I am the quiet one in my foster flock, tho I do say "Whew!" in response to my name! I mostly keep to myself. I will allow my foster mom to watch me eat without flying off, and tentatively eat out of a hand in the cage with seeds once the others come down to eat out of it (never on my own so far).

I am not big on coming out of the cage even though it is open pretty much all day every day. I`ll come out only for about an hour maybe once a week. I love to chew and shred toys!

I am eating Nutri-an cakes, a bit of seed, and some Roudybush pellets and greens. I like kale, especially when it is attached to the side of the cage.

Aren`t I a cutie, and don`t I deserve a forever home? With you??

In nature, parakeets (budgerigars) live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single parakeet to a household if there is already at least one parakeet living there. Otherwise, parakeets must be adopted in groups of two or more.
