[Mickaboo Techlist] FW: DB Connection

Hi: Mal or Matt-could try resetting the joomla pwd for the database (mbjoomla). Right now I have no access. Also since I have no access to your installation of MySQL, there is no way I can fully check things out since the server had a crash. Before I re-install I would like to go a little further down the error tree and at least make sure I can make a connection. Since the error is "Database Error: Unable to connect to the database:Could not connect to MySQL". If I cannot connect to the db, I cannot re-install. Also since you have re-written MySQL using assembly language-what version are you compliant with and what features did you remove if any? Thanks, Wendi _____ From: Wendi Whitcomb [mailto:wrw@zozoeng.com] Sent: Sunday, February 01, 2009 9:14 PM To: 'amuse@foofus.com' Cc: 'Mal Raff' Subject: DB Connection It seems the user name /pwd for the joomla db has changed or the privileges. Please re-check the username/pwd and I will check the connection on my end tomorrow. Since I haven't accessed the site in over 2 weeks and at that time had no issues accessing the site, I surmise something has changed on the server side Wendi

Wendi: I intend to look into the Mysql error; please do not try reinstalling or anything until I get a chance. I am sorry this is taking so long but after spending 4 hours on the disk replacement and another 6 on the in-person class, I really have had other things that needed catching up first! I want to make sure that the issue is NOT DB corruption before I go changing passwords around and reinstalling/re-establishing databases. The databases were live when the disk crashed, so that's a risk I need to rule out. I did not rewrite MySQL to use assembly, I compiled it with the --enable-assembly flag :) Wendi Whitcomb wrote:
