Hi all! Here's the latest change to the mickaboo website code: ============================================================ Bird "Special Info" at the bottom of each birds' bio used to be auto-generated by /usr/scripts/makebirdfiles.pl -- that script now references an include file in /home/httpd/mickaboo/include called specieswarning-*.inc.html (where * is the species ID in ASM). In the specieswarning-*.inc.html file is now where we can place any special information, links to resources, etc - that apply only to that specific species. For examples check out any Amazon or Cockatoo. This notice appears on ALL birds of that species' individual. Additionally I've added a header file to the species overview HTML pages. Check out "Non-Parrot" bird listing for an example. This file resides in /home/httpd/mickaboo/include/speciesheader-*.inc.html (where * is the Species ID as above). This text area allows us to post special notices that apply to people browsing for a certain species of bird. Anyone in the "dev" group can edit these files. An overview of the Species IDs and their corresponding value is in /home/httpd/mickaboo/include/species-guide.txt Before anyone asks, there are two separate files for a reason. The speciesheader-* file appears only on the "Bird species' overview" and is for general notifications regarding that species. However someone can also pull a bird up out of the "See all birds" or "Coming soon" sections. So, the specieswarning file is for specific information to that species.
