Re: [Mickaboo Techlist] Adoption Foster Form Ready for testing

Hi Mal: Thanks for reviewing the form. I'm ging to keep a list of all the input and we can update once we have a consensus--I've sent the file to Michelle Yesney and she has reviewed it. Thanks for catching the spelling mistake-- Also as far as browsers I would like to keep it so we only go back to IE6. Most people who use Firefox are more technical in nature and therefore would know what to do. It works perfectly on IE7 and the latest Firefox. I need testers on Safari, as I can only do screenshots. I will get to IE6 testing, but I have to fire up my old computer for that. But I will defer to the group as to browser compatibility. Form displays OK, but text/box alignment isn't very good. Nevertheless, it does display and I could fill it in (although I didn't yet). Nice that it allows both adopt/foster to be selected ;-) Couple of minor things... Would it be useful to put 'none' as an option for # of children? Suggest changing the word "owned" to "cared for" . Under Bird Care, first question: quarintine should be quarantine 4th BIG box down: "Where would you do...." should be "What would you do..." ------------------------ As for your question about PDF and MBdb entry: I think it would be good to provide a pdf which we can upload directly into the database under Media as a document. As for automatic database entry, that would be good in the long run, but perhaps not immediately. You'll have to check with Matt on that one... but my sense would be to make sure it is all running very smoothly before having it go directly to the database. Should be fairly easy to snag the appropriate fields and create an SQL that first searches to be sure the candidate isn't already in the MBdb, and if not, creates an entry with name, address, email and phone stuff. Nice work! -m-

Is there really a need to support IE6? YouTube is going to stop supporting
it, and Digg has been threatening to. Can't we just provide a link to
http://hey-it.com/ instead? :-)

I am OK with ditching IE6 support as a requirement. Wayne Coburn wrote:

You've got my vote--I hate supporting IE6. But a lot of people, especially older folks, still use IE6. At the very least we should probably autodetect IE6 and put a link to upgrade. Lets go with a nice notification that we don't support IE6 anymore and a pointer to download Firefox. Wendi Whitcomb wrote:
