Re: [Mickaboo Techlist] [Mickaboo Discuss] new volutneers: STATUS

Chloe: As a reminder: Generally speaking a person can get "MBVols" privilege on the wiki simply by being on the discuss list, and having an entry in ASM. If they're on discuss but not in ASM someone needs to enter the email address with which they subscribed to discuss, into ASM as an owner record for them. If they're in ASM as an owner but not on discuss and want wiki access, get them on discuss list first before a wiki is granted -- digest at the very least :) If someone wants wiki access but doesn't want to be in ASM or on discuss, then tough, they don't get an account. I noticed a huge list of new accounts waiting for approval.
So, I'm going to try to see what's up.
For those of you waiting, hang on, and no need to resubmit a request for a login.

FYI, there are a fairly large number of people on discuss under
different emails than what is listed for them in ASM.

I do realize that. Part of my reasoning for requiring that the email address be in ASM is that I want to be able to block accounts of people who flip out on us and we end up red-flagging them. So, if they're on discuss with a different addy than their ASM one, I want BOTH email addys in ASM. You can do that by just entering comma separated email addresses in ASM. IE. Okay, for no on when I add someone to discuss under a different email from
the one in ASM, I will add their email to ASM using a comma as a delimiter.
Got it. :-)

Stega: You don't need access to ASM unless you're doing data entry, or helping administer something that people should be in ASM for. stega wrote:

But, here's the part that I don't understand. There are 53 people waiting for approval, most of whom have "Email Validated" already, some as early as March 2009. https://confluence.mickaboo.org/admin/mgmt/waitingUsers.action What is the next step? They have no Wiki account now, correct? AMuse wrote:
