Quck update:
-I've gotten my hands on a 1U sun system with 10k drives. It should be in my
hands by Friday of this week. 2/6/09
- Found a resource to help with the single authentication idea to integrate
the various auth db's on the system (Currently 4 seperate). (dependancy on
dev system up).
- I have a possible 1u rack space, but it's not available right now. They
need to setup a real DMZ before we can get that space. But we can get it
eventually (free).
Next steps:
- Get server in hand, and get a basic build up. And if we really want to get
moving, I can just have it up on my home network. 2/28
- Game plan for data transfer. Maybe using sneaker net would be best?
100+gigs over a slow upload capacity on a cable modem. (I'll discuss with
Matt).
- Need some definitions on the CRM platform being used, version, etc.
(2/6/09)
- mysql details, size, number of logins, version
- wiki details, what wiki are you using(sorry Matt, I forgot what you told
me)?, version, number of logins
- any other application details to help scope the project.
- number of local PAM logins?
Possible solutions, depending on logins: ldap or pam?
Let me know if you guys have any questions.

Matt,
Thanks for the gracious introduction. I'm looking forward to helping as much as possible. Initial focus / action item(s):
* Find a 1u co-location / static ip location for dev.mickaboo.org http://dev.mickaboo.org
* Procure a 1u server for the task.
* Install a mirrored debian OS build (we can pull a package list from the current server) and mirror the same packages (stable release I'm guessing?)
Once we get to this point, we can really get rolling!
I already put my feelers out there for the 1U location. I'll let everyone know how things are progressing.

He's going to volunteer with us and try to help with the growing list of 'back burnered' stuff, such as getting a development server put together and integrating all our tools into unified username/password schemes.
He's got a ton of sysadmin-y experience so I'm very excited to have him on board!
