Final MickaCoo Post to Mickaboo? Thanksgivingness and RescueReport.org Updates

Hello! As much as it pains me to consider, this may be MickaCoo's final post to the *Mickaboo* Discussion Group. If you want to continue getting MickaCoo posts, please join the MickaCoo Group by clicking herehttps://mickaboo.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mickacoo . My days speaking up for defenseless, homeless and nearly hopeless pigeons and doves all feel like Thanksgiving because so many friends and complete strangers say yes yes yes to my many and constant requests. I hope you can feel the gratitude every day. I feel it. I am profoundly grateful to each of you for the support and generosity and encouragement that you give. There's lots of MickaCoo news at www.RescueReport.org. The Pepsi grant hasn't yet arrived but we did officially win and a check for the first half, as they say, is in the mail. (And here's a reminder to vote for Mickaboo in the current Pepsi Challengehttp://www.refresheverything.com/mickaboorescue .) It looks like we're going to keep the MickaCoo name. It is much beloved and no better name has yet to be suggested. MickaCoo has officially "fledged" from Mickaboo http://www.Mickaboo.org/ and is now a fiscally sponsored project of Community Initiatives (Note: fiscal sponsorship = oversight, not funding.) Read more here.http://www.rescuereport.org/2011/11/community-initiatives-says-yes-to.html I'm still a full-time MickaCoo volunteer but, if sufficient support is forthcoming, will become a paid Executive Director for MickaCoo Pigeon & Dove Rescue sometime after 1/1/12. Check out pictures and a video and meet MickaCoo's latest rescue - baby homing pigeon Gypsy http://www.rescuereport.org/2011/11/gypsy.html. And you can make a huge positive impact for MickaCoo's future by helping us to meet our GlobalGiving challengehttp://www.rescuereport.org/2011/11/4k-in-38-days.html. We must inspire at least 50 different donors to give a total of $4K in the next 38 days to win a place on their site. If you don't think your effort matters, ponder this: Peaceful Paws http://www.peacefulpawssprings.org/, a wonderful rescue in Kentucky (and a friend to MickaCoo & Mickaboo Pepsi voting partner) would have won $25K in this month's Chase Community Giving challenge if they had received just six more votes. Six. *Thank you. * Elizabeth *MickaCoo Pigeon & Dove Rescue - Join us at https://www.facebook.com/MickaCooRescue* Until they all have homes, don't buy, don't breed- adopt. www.RescueReport.org www.MickaCoo.org http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGjyooh3Yo0
