Please help explain to people WHY Mickaboo supports the propsed ban on bird sales in SF

People think Mickaboo is crazy and wrong for wanting to support a ban on bird sales. We may not all agree on the solution but we all agree there IS a problem and award-winning animal welfare journalist Mira Tweti has articulated the situation exceptionally well in this article. This is a FANTASTIC article- so comprehensive and supported and readable. Many of you may have already been familiar with this article but if not- I'd HIGHLY encourage you to read it and everybody- please SHARE it widely! Plenty to Squawk About - Los Angeles Times http://articles.latimes.com/2003/jul/20/magazine/tm-parrots29 Also- Mira wrote a book on the subject (they're on sale at Amazon right now). The next SF Animal Welfare Commission meeting will be at City Hall on Thursday 7/8 at 5:30. I'm going to be there and Mira (who is flying in for it) will be too. DO we need to get numbers of people to the 7/8 meeting? I will be there too!

Thanks Elizabeth. I figured Plenty to Squawk About would be of good help. That article alone took me 6 months to research and write. The book, 5 years. Look forward to meeting you (and the Kings) and everyone else involved. Mira On Jun 24, 2010, at 12:24 PM, Elizabeth Young wrote:
