A Voice 4 Parrots' is dedicated to helping parrots and their guardians by
providing training and consultation based on cutting edge, humane and
compassionate systems of Applied Behavior Analysis. ABA includes positive
reinforcement to empower your companion parrot rather than controlling and
dominating to achieve a desired outcome.
The inherent wild traits of parrots, such as screaming, chewing,
territorial aggression,
and captivity-induced biting are some of the reasons parrots are
surrendered and tragically... abused, neglected, and relegated to garages,
basements and closets.
Aggressive manhandling and archaic training methods are still being used
by some parrot hobbyists and "behavior experts" to tame and to
correct parrot behavior problems. The internet
is flooded with videos that inadvertently expose harassment, abuse,
and bullying of parrots under the guise of educating, entertainment, and
video sharing. Although some parrot handlers claim to be "experts"
in their field, their techniques are often cruel and insensitive
solutions to parrot training and taming, causing permanent emotional
and physical damage.
A Voice 4 Parrots also understands that many responsible, caring
individuals ventured into parrot guardianship, perhaps naively, not
knowing or fully understanding the "wild" facts about parrots or the
extensive responsibility of keeping parrots in captivity, and now they're
asking questions and desperately need solutions.
* Why does my parrot hate my husband but he loves me? *
* *
* My parrot is cuddly and tame most of the time, so why *
* does she suddenly bite me for no reason? *
* *
* Why does my parrot scream? *
* *
* Why is my parrot plucking out his feathers and self-mutilating?*
If you're a parrot guardian looking for answers, there is good news for
you and your parrot! A Voice 4 Parrots provides training and consultation
using the compassionate principles of Applied Behavior Analysis so
you can start enjoying your relationship with your parrot and your
parrot can live a more fulfilled, less stressful, happier life.
Understanding the natural instincts of parrots and learning how to
humanely and compassionately overcome behavior problems can literally save
and enrich the lives of parrots.
