An exciting alternative for all those incredible eggs!

Hello- Like many of you, as a pigeon and dove foster and adopter, I periodically must remove the incredibly gorgeous eggs that the birds lay and replace them with fake eggs (for birth control). I compost the eggs but, when I read an article in the SF Chronicle about artist J. Brooke Patterson's incredible artworkhttp://www.jbrooke.com/jbrooke/Home.html, I was inspired to contract Brooke and offer her the eggs instead. Not only did she graciously say yes to using them, but she is also very generously donating one of her works for sale at the upcoming Mickaboo Holiday Partyhttp://confluence.mickaboo.org/display/MBPublic/Mickaboo+Holiday+Party+2010Silent Auction fundraiser! If you're not familiar with how beautiful pigeon (and dove) eggs are (and what amazingly devoted parents they are), check out this story called Pigeon Family Valueshttp://www.rescuereport.org/2008/04/pigeon-family-values.html . And, if you, like me, hate having to throw away the eggs your birds lay, please- put them in the refrigerator and store them. We'll collect them and hand them off to Brooke for use in her incredible art. In fact, I'll be at the Holiday Party this Saturday night and would be happy to pick up any eggs that you want to bring at that time. 8 ) And check out Brooke's art at her website- www.jbrooke.com Yay! Thank you, Brooke! e -- Elizabeth Until they all have homes, don't buy, don't breed- adopt. www.RescueReport.org www.MickaCoo.org http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGjyooh3Yo0
